Cpl. Estanislao Alvarez, a UH-1Y Huey crew chief with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), stand next to the Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James T. Conway as he address the Marines of HMLA-369 after present Alvarez with the Purple Heart Medal in the squadron's hangar Aug. 20. Alvarez earned the Purple Heart for wounds he received while resupplying Marines under enemy fire in Helmand province June 16. Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Carlton Kent was also present for the ceremony.
