Markuson, 22, from Stoughton, Wis., motor transport operator with Alpha Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), directs an operator to load a Ground-based Operational Surveillance System onto a trailer in preparation for a combat logistics patrol to Forward Operating Base Dehli in Helmand province, Afghanistan, Aug. 14. Marines of CLB-5 regularly conduct combat logistics patrols to provide gear and equipment to units within the area of operation.
