Retired Lt. Col. Robert G. Nivens, Blue Star Foundation, presents a Gold Star banner to Rhonda Dunn Courington, niece of Korean War veteran Cpl. Larry Dunn, during Dunn's funeral Sept. 17, 2016, in Cullman, Alabama. Dunn was reported "missing in action" Dec. 1, 1950, after his unit, Company B, 2nd Engineer Combat Battalion, 2nd Infantry, was attacked near Sonchu, North Korea. He was declared dead Dec. 31, 1953, and his remains were identified in 2015 due to advances in DNA testing. He returned to his home state of Alabama Sept. 14, 2016. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
