Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher S. Kepner, Command Sergeant Major of the Army National Guard, addresses Soldiers that competed in the Army National Guard’s Gainey Cup Assessment and Selection at Fort Benning, Georgia, Jan. 22-28. The six-man team from Illinois’ Troop B, 2nd Squadron, 106th Cavalry Regiment based in Dixon, Illinois, took thrid place, earning a spot in the ARNG Gainey Cup train up and competition in April and a chance at competeing in the Army’s Gainey Cup competition to become the Army’s Best Cavalry Squad.
