Coast Guard volunteers help students build SeaPerch underwater robots

Students, with guidance from Coast Guard volunteers, learn how to solder and build remotely operated vehicles at Honbushin International Center in Mililani, Jan. 28, 2017. Local students will participate in the 2017 Hawaii Regional SeaPerch Underwater Robotics for Youth competition at U.S. Coast Guard Base Honolulu, Feb. 25. SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics while building an underwater remotely operated vehicle as part of a science and engineering technology curriculum.
