President Obama thanked each soldier gathered at the dining facility at Fort Bliss, Texas, many of whom served tours in Iraq. The president told them, “Our task in Iraq is not yet complete. Our combat phase is over but we’ve worked too hard to neglect the continuing work that has to be done by our civilians and those transitional forces including some soldiers that are deploying today.”
