    Petty Officer 2nd Class Brandon Carney, boatswain's mate, receives the traditional first kiss from his wife during a homecoming celebration for the guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67). The ship returned two days early from a scheduled 7-month deployment because of Hurricane Earl. Cole deployed to support Standing NATO Maritime Group 2, conducting counter-piracy operations and maritime interdiction operations in the Gulf of Aden and Somali Basin.
