Cooper was picked as the brigades best junior enlisted Soldier. In addition to the weapons testing, Soldiers competing for the title of brigade best warrior had to complete an army physical fitness test, pass a written test, go before a military board consisting of the brigade's senior enlisted personnel, and complete an eight mile ruck march.
