Marines embarked aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima train with Guatemala Kaibil Special Forces in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, to strengthen military ties between the two nations. Iwo Jima is anchored off the coast of Guatemala supporting Continuing Promise 2010. The assigned medical and engineering staff embarked aboard Iwo Jima are working with partner nations to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering assistance to eight different nations to improve mutual understanding of current medical issues.
