Gunnery Sgt. Stuart M. Saylor receives a Meritorious Service Medal from Col. John Kennedy, commanding officer, Marine Aircraft Group 16 (Reinforced), 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, during his retirement ceremony at Al Asad, Iraq, Aug. 5. Since becoming an intelligence specialist, Saylor spent a lot of time away from home on deployments. In 22 years, he has served in every conflict since Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom. Saylor is the MAG-16 intelligence chief, and a Flint, Mich., native. Kennedy is a Clifton Park, N.Y., native.
