A nonlethal weapons instructor guides Marines with Task Force Southwest through a smoke bomb at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 23, 2017. More than 30 Marines with the unit’s security element enhanced their nonlethal weapons skills, firing rubber ammunition from the M203A grenade launcher and Mossberg 500 shotgun, while also practicing hand-to-hand combat techniques and takedowns. Task Force Southwest is comprised of approximately 300 Marines, and will deploy to Helmand Province, Afghanistan to train, advise and assist the Afghan National Army 215th Corps and 505th Zone National Police.
