Pararescuemen and Combat Rescue Officers from the 103rd Rescue Squadron of the New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing conduct joint training with Human Space Flight Support Detachment 3 focused on deploying Orion spacecraft recovery systems in the waters off Marine Corps Base Hawaii, on March 5 2017. The Airmen were testing an inflatable device known as the "Front Porch" intended to be mated to the Orion spacecraft, and used to support astronauts who have made a water landing following a flight.
