Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit operate an AN/PRC-117G radio aboard amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), March 6, 2017. The AN/PRC-117G radio allows Marines to communicate from ship to ship and ship to shore. The 24th MEU will be able to maintain communication throughout its entire deployment. The 24th MEU will operate in Europe and the Middle East in the coming months providing crisis response and contingency support for combatant commanders, including maritime security operations, humanitarian assistance, and advance force operations.
