Nevada Army Guard solders of the 1859th Transportation Company transported 10,000 filled sand bags with M1088 light medium tactical vehicles to a staging area for people threatened by the flood in Lemmon Valley, a neighborhood north of Reno, Wednesday, March 8, 2017. More than a dozen homes have flooded and about an additional 320 are threatened as a season of storms overflowed nearby Swan Lake. With more storms and snow melt from the Sierra Nevada range and nowhere for the water to flow, the Nevada Division of Emergency Management expects the water levels to rise an additional five feet with the potential for water to remain at peak levels for months until natural evaporation occurs.
