U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment provide Combat Life-Saver (CLS) assistance to a role playing casualty during Realistic Urban Training at Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., March 10, 2017. CLS skills can help sustain an injured Marine in a hostile situation until they are transported to a higher echelon of medical care. All the Marines in the platoon were trained in the life-saver’s course. The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit undergoes a demanding unit-level certification cycle in order to be proficient in every critical mission area needed to operate while forward deployed.
