Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing shut down an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft at Yokota Air Base, Japan after a long day of flying with the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force on March 9, 2017 as part of Forest Light 17-1. Forest Light is a routine, semi-annual exercise conducted by U.S. and Japanese forces in order to strengthen our interoperability and combined capabilities in defense of the U.S.-Japanese alliance.
