Michael Mawa is greeted and awarded by Col. Jonathan Miclot after completing the Al Asad Marine Corps Marathon Oct. 29. Mawa is a Ugandan guard working on the air base under 3rd Low Altitude Defense Squadron, Marine Wing Support Group 37 (Reinforced), 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward), and was the second male finisher with a time of 3:22:25. Miclot is the 3rd MAW commander.
