A Republic of Korea Marine with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, jumps out of a U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook, on March 17, 2017, at Josari drop zone, Republic of Korea, in support of Korean Marine Exercise Program 17-6. The U.S. and ROK Marine Corps teamed up to conduct parachute operations from March 15-17. The goal of the KMEP is to enhance and improve the interoperability of ROK and U.S. Marine Corps forces at the tactical level to build combined warfighting capabilities.
