A Honduran orthodontist assistant checks a young Honduran girl's teeth checking for cavities during a recent two-day Medical and Civic Assistance Program or MEDCAP event in the town of Chacalapa, Honduras, located north of Tegucigalpa. Along with orthodontic services, Honduran military and civil doctors provided free medical screenings and medicine to more than 5,000 Honduran civilians during the two-day event. The Honduran military and U.S. Civil Affairs Soldiers assigned as an element of Special Operations Command-South planned and executed the two-day event in order to improve the quality of life for thousands of citizens across the northern department of Colon.
