Marines from India Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, bound toward the enemy’s position during a firefight in Trek Nawa, Afghanistan, while conducting Operation Mako, Sept. 21, 2010. The men, along with Afghan Army soldiers, were clearing houses in the area when they began taking fire from nearby compounds and cornfields. Mako was a one-day clearing mission to disrupt enemy activity.
