PACIFIC OCEAN (March 21, 2017) Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical) Seaman Matthew Marcum, from Franklin County, Ind., shuts off a valve during a damage control training exercise aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) while underway for composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
