Republic of Korea Marine Staff Sgt. Kiseok Parks (left), a team leader with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division climbs a rock wall with U.S. Marine Capt. Ben Skarzynski (right) March 24, 2017, near Camp Mujuk, Republic of Korea, during Korea Marine Exercise Program 17-6. Recon Marines from both countries spent the day demonstrating different ways to rappel and rock climb. While each KMEP iteration is unique to the units involved and the training goals, all iterations are designed to increase combined readiness. Skarzynski, a Bethesda, Maryland native, is the platoon commander for 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
