Cpl. Jason D. Green, a 24-year-old vehicle commander with Security Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), surveys the scene at an explosion site. What's most exciting is heading out into the unknown, said Green from Meridian, Id. Green explained that in the unfamiliar, urban territory of Fallujah, fighting a faceless enemy always keeps these security Marines focused. "You have to count on (the other Marines) so you can take care of your mission," said Green. "(We have) a very strong bond because you have to rely on the brother next to you." Combat Logistics Battalion 5 is deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi Reconstruction.
