U.S. Airmen from the 116th Civil Engineer Squadron and the 116th Air Control Wing chaplain corps, Georgia Air National Guard, assemble the new FORTS portable building being used by the 116th Air Control Wing chaplains and the 116th CES during Vigilant Guard 2017, Tifton, Ga., March 28, 2017. Vigilant Guard 2017 Georgia is a Joint Regional Training exercise sponsored by U.S. Northern Command in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau. The scenario for the exercise is a simulated category 3 hurricane that makes landfall and moves through Georgia and Tennessee causing catastrophic damage. The exercise provides National Guard units from Georgia and six other states an opportunity to improve cooperation and relationships with the local, state, regional civilian, military and federal partners in preparation for emergencies and catastrophic events.
