Marcos Gonzalez, the coach of the Cherry Point soccer team, talks to the team during halftime with the Cherry Point squad trailing 3-1. Gonzalez pointed out to his team that they were playing well but just hadn’t capitalized on its opportunities. Cherry Point came back with two goals but lost in penalty kicks after time expired. Five members of the squad were selected to try out for the all-Marine team, which began, Sept. 27, and concludes, Oct. 17.
