JEJU JOINT CIVIL-MILITARY COMPLEX, Jeju-do (March 25, 2017) Cmdr. Douglas Pegher, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63), exchanges gifts with a young girl on behalf of the U.S. and Republic of Korea Navy during a welcoming ceremony celebrating Stethem as the first U.S. Navy ship to visit the Republic of Korea island of Jeju-do. Stethem is on patrol in the waters east of the Korean peninsula supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
