NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY DEVESELU, Romania (28 March 2017) Cmdr. Jonathan Lipps (left), commanding officer of Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS), shows a video to Major General Paul Hurmuz (right), Romanian Deputy Secretary of State for Policy and Planning, and NATO Representatives as part of their tour of the facility. AAMDS is located on Naval Support Facility Deveselu, which is the U.S. Navy's newest installation and plays a key role in ballistic missile defense in Eastern Europe. The installation's operations enable the responsiveness of U.S. and allied forces in support of Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia's mission to provide services to the Fleet, Fighter, and Family.
