PACIFIC OCEAN (March 30, 2017) Fire Controlman 3rd Class Alexis Iracheta, from Fort Worth, Texas, loads blank rounds into the Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) while underway for composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
