Pvt. Ryan J. Martella from Temecula, Calif., holds up his certificate of achievement for graduating in the top three of his class. Martella dropped out at age 17 after letting negative influences control his life. Now, he said his goals are back on track. “After my training is complete, I want to go to college and get my business management degree and either go in as an officer in the Marine Corps or Army.”
