MCAS FUTENMA, OKINAWA, Japan— Maj. Gen. Malavet, left, gives a coin to Cpl. Alexis Goodwyn March 29 during an award ceremony on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. During the ceremony, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron received the 2016 National Defense Transportation Association Military Unit of the Year Award for their outstanding service in the field of transportation and logistics. H&HS went head-to-head against the other branches of service for this award and came out on top. Malavet is the commanding general for Marine Corps Installations Pacific and Marine Corps Base Camp Butler-Japan.
