Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Jon Abad, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), guides a UH-1Y Huey helicopter assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (Reinforced) off the flight deck to retrieve cargo pallets from the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Joshua Humphreys (T-AO 188) during a vertical replenishment mission April 5, 2017. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
