PACIFIC OCEAN (April 10, 2017) Sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100) participate in a crash and salvage drill on the flight deck while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
