Senior Chief Boatswain’s Mate Herb Kresge Jr., assigned to U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, and his daughter, Sierra Kresge, take a group photo with military children in the fourth and fifth grades at Gaudet Middle School in Middletown following a presentation they gave to students and teachers in support of the Month of the Military Child. Established in 1986 by former Defense Secretary Casper W. Weinberger, the Month of the Military Child is to honor and recognize the sacrifices military children make when their parent or even both parents are in the military.
