5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 11, 2017) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Burgundy S. Penn and Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) Airman Shequana D. Pryce signal an MV-22B Osprey pilot, attached to the Blue Knights of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (Reinforced), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, during takeoff on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). Bataan and its ready group are deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
