Spc. Melissa Becci, native of Chicago, Ill., and military police officer, 192nd Military Police Detachment, leads her fellow soldiers through the Al Salam Palace, Forward Operating Base Prosperity, Baghdad, Iraq, during room clearing training as part of a training exercise. In addition to their regular training missions, the International Zone Police, known as the Blackshirts, are responsible for enforcing law and keeping order for all Department of Defense soldiers and personnel between FOB Prosperity and FOB Union III, otherwise known as the Green Zone.
