170524-N-PO203-204 CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (Apr. 24, 2017) Cory Stephenson, president and CEO of Broadband Discovery Systems (BDS), Inc., launches a small quad rotor platform as Dr. Rosemarie Oelrich, scientist, Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, uses a handheld Android device to monitor in real-time, data from the Mine Warfare Rapid Assessment Capability (mRAC) installed onboard during the Ship-to-Shore Maneuver Exploration and Experimentation (S2ME2) Advanced Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) 2017 at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. The ONR-TechSolutions-sponsored mRAC is a man-portable threat detection and localization system that utilizes an ultra-sensitive magnetometer sensor package to afford operators the ability to conduct an exploratory wide area search more efficiently. S2ME2 ANTX brings industry, academia, and the Naval Research Development Establishment (NR&DE) together to demonstrate emerging technology/engineering innovations that address priority Navy and Marine Corps missions.
