Capt. Eric Will, a range officer at the Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center, discusses the camp’s counter improvised explosive device village, Oct. 13, while one of the camp’s role players observes from the third floor of a nearby building. Will is the primary designer of the village and adjacent counter IED training areas. The village is being constructed at a cost of $1.5 million and will include a prison complex, hidden passageways, false walls, pop-up targets, and adjacent counter IED walking paths and roadways. The project is on track to be fully operational by the spring of 2011.
