    A Mississippi Air National Guard C-17 Globemaster III with the 172nd Airlift wing from Jackson, Mississippi, takes off from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, May 1, 2017, signifying the start of exercise Northern Edge 2017. This exercise is Alaska’s largest and premier joint training exercise designed to practice operations, techniques and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among the services.
