Marine Corps Installations-West Commanding General Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Killea presents Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar with the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Aviation Safety Award, May 3. The CNO Aviation Safety Award is the U.S. Navy’s highest aviation safety award granted annually, based on a squadron or unit’s consistent mission readiness, safety-first mindset and operational excellence while safely managing operations.
“If there is any award that screams ‘team’ it’s a safety award, especially the CNO Safety Award,” said Killea. “However long you’ve been a part of this unit and how much you’ve contributed to this award, be proud.
