Sgt. 1st Class Tommy Proffitt, signal non-commissioned officer, U.S. Army North, looks through a new type of weapon being tested during the annual Association of the United States Army meeting and exposition held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in the nation’s capital Oct. 26. The new training device allows soldiers to test their shooting skills through a fully interactive scope, without firing any rounds. It also helps soldiers test their accuracy and reaction time to simulated enemy firing positions. Onlookers can see shooters’ results and the full simulation through a laptop display.
