Air Force Maj. Cindy Lord, commanding officer of 71 Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Unit changes her blouse from captain to major at her promotion ceremony aboard Camp Bastion, Nov. 1. Lord’s son, Lance Cpl. James Hill, an infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, waits to congratulate her after the promotion. Lord and Hill have been separated for two years since Hill graduated Marine Basic Training. “I just started crying,” said Lord. “I am extremely proud of James. He is an amazing, brave, heroic Marine and a truly wonderful brother and son.”
