CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan –Firefighters pose for a picture with Maj. Gen. Joaquin F. Malavet May 3 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The firefighters were awarded a certificate of commendation for going above and beyond the call of duty after responding to a local structure fire that occurred off base. The firefighters recovered numerous personal items including passports, a cherished wedding ring, and official documents. Malavet is the commanding general of Marine Corps Installation Pacific.
