Lt. Gen. Benjamin Freakley, commander of Fort Knox, and Col. Christopher Toner, commander of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, prepare for the Order of St. Maurice ceremony at the 2010 Annual Infantry Ball. The award is bestowed to infantrymen who served with significant distinction, and is named after St. Maurice, a Christian who served in the Roman Army and refused to participate in pagan rituals that ran counter to his beliefs. The event was held at the Louisville Crowne Plaza Hotel on Nov. 4, and sponsored by the National Infantry Association, Fort Knox Chapter.
