Nigh is a civil affairs officer with 448th Civil Affairs Battalion, 364th Civil Affairs Brigade, 351st Civil Affairs Command. Disaster preparedness training in local communities allows the Philippine and U.S. military to enhance readiness and response capabilities during a natural disaster. Balikatan is an annual U.S.-Philippine bilateral military exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism and other combined military operations.
