Petty Officer 2nd Class David W. Mullis, an aerographer's mate, gets a closer look at the Carnival cruise ship C/V Splendor from aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan was diverted from its current training maneuvers at the direction of Commander U.S. Third Fleet, and at the request of the U.S. Coast Guard, to a position south near the Carnival cruise ship to facilitate the delivery of 4,500 pounds of supplies to the cruise ship. Early Monday, CV Splendor reported it was dead in the water 150 nautical miles southwest of San Diego. (Photo by: Petty Officer 3rd Class Shawn J. Stewart)
