CAMP PENDLETON, California (May 12, 2017) U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Young, 2nd Platoon Sergeant with the Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is welcomed home by his wife and daughter during a homecoming event at Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 12. The 11th MEU is returning to Southern California after a seven-month deployment to the Western Pacific, Middle East, and Horn of Africa. While embarked aboard U.S. Navy warships, the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's mission as an amphibious rapid-response force was reinforced and sustained through training in Oman, Djibouti, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Malaysia, and Kuwait.
