A group of descendants of Revolutionary War Private Samuel Howard, represent the family in a group photo with soldiers from the 3rd United States Infantry Regiment, traditionally known as "The Old Guard,"during Howard's reinterment May 12, 2017 at Resthaven Cemetery in Baxter, Ky. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District worked with local community and state officials to move Howard from Wix-Howard Cemetery when his grave was endangered by soil movement from a design deficiency of a flood control project completed in the 1990s.
