SAN DIEGO (May 15, 2017) Sailors man the rails aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) while it transits the San Diego Bay at the conclusion of deployment. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit completed a scheduled seven-month deployment to the Pacific, Middle East, and the Horn of Africa.
