Senior Airman Daniel West follows his map in order to reach the checkpoint, Oct. 26, at Camp Bullis, Texas. West is completing land-navigation training and must successfully use a map, compass, and a protractor to reach several points more than 1,000 meters apart. "The terrain is difficult," Airman West said, "but as long as you know what you're doing, it's possible to complete." Land navigation is one of many subjects covered in the Combat Leadership Course.
