170309-N-GB257-001 CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 09, 2017) Students from North Charleston High School compete in the 2017 SeaPerch Charleston Challenge as Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic employee Sean Rodammer judges the competition. SeaPerch is a robotics program that equips teachers and students with the resources they need to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). During the competition, students navigate an obstacle course to complete specific challenges. Each team also presents their understanding of engineering principles and design concepts through an Engineering Notebook. SSC Atlantic develops, acquires and provides life cycle support for Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, information technology (IT) and space capabilities. A leading-edge Navy engineering center, SSC Atlantic designs, builds, tests, fields and supports many of the finest frontline C4ISR systems in use today, and those being planned for the future.
